Bassist and author Justin Locke presents an inside look at the world of professional musicians and world-class musical performances. Justin Locke is a serious musician who will share his sense of humor about great musical moments and great musical gaffes at the Friends of the Needham Public Library’s annual meeting on Thursday, June 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Library’s Community Room. The event is free and open to the public.
Justin Locke spent 18 seasons playing the bass with the Boston Pops Orchestra. He has played with the Boston Symphony and other New England Orchestras. He played under the batons of Arthur Fiedler, Henry Mancini, Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, and John Williams, among many others. He has played “in the pit” for numerous ballets, operas, and Broadway shows. He is the author of Real Men Don't Rehearse: Adventures in the Secret World of Professional Orchestras.
